Formerly Retired Senior Volunteer Transportation Program . Medical program provides transport for wheelchair bound or cot clients to get to medical appointments. Medical Assistance Program provides transportation to medical appointments for clients on medical assistance who are ambulatory. Requests for transportation must be made before noon on the day before the appointment. Social Rides Program provides transportation for many different activities. Use must be approved and arranged by client’s social worker. Self Driven Program provides reimbursement for travel expenses when traveling out of town for medical appointments.;Eligibility varies with program. Call for more information.
Volunteer Caregiver Transportation Program: The Volunteer Caregiver Program: which serves all of Chippewa County: is recruiting volunteers to help the elderly and people with disabilities in their own communities. Volunteers contribute greatly in helping the elderly and people with disabilities remain in their own homes a little longer. The Volunteer Caregiver Program provides volunteers with a number of service opportunties that include: Transportation to needed medical appointments •Shopping and errands •Caring Companionship •Respite Care •Telephone reassurance Volunteers receive training and continues support to make the experience enjoyable and worthwhile.
Provides a shared ride: door-to-door public transportation service within the city limits wheelchair equipped vans are available. Regular fare for one-way ride is $2.75 for adults: $1.75 for ages 5 – 18: free under age 5 accompanied by adult Reduced fare is $1.75 for one-way ride.
